As a Medicare insurance advisor and broker, I have had the honor and privilege of helping many Veterans with Medicare. Since most Veterans have VA insurance they are not sure if they should look further into the Medicare plans or just stay with what they know and have with the VA. It is important to note the Veteran benefits and Original Medicare have nothing to do with each other and are separate from one another. Your Veteran benefits have nothing to do with Medicare benefits.
It is important to understand that you have affordable options outside the VA. You can have both your VA insurance and a Medicare Advantage plan. You can have a supplemental plan as well - but remember you can only have EITHER Medicare Advantage or a Supplement. You can't have both. Your VA benefits will not coordinate with either type of insurance. Many of my Veteran clients that strictly use the VA for their health benefits also take advantage of Medicare Advantage plans that offer benefits like gym memberships, vision or dental at no additional cost. Many of the insurance carriers have plans that are marketed to Veterans only. Many of my clients
have reported they like having a local doctor as well as their VA healthcare providers.
There are many different plans available today that can help a Veteran with their Part B Premium as well. Reach out to us if your a Veteran or know of a Veteran that could use our services.
Thank you so much for your service!!!
Two of my favorite clients: Fred & Fred
Identical brothers with identical names who live next door to each other with social security numbers one digit apart. Their house numbers are one digit from each other and they even married sisters. You can’t make this stuff up. Thanks Fred and Fred for your service!
